Each year the ISPN awards a number of scholarships to facilitate attendance at our annual meetings for surgeons in training who wish to present a paper to the Society. There are Scientific Excellence Scholarships and LMIC Scholarships (for applicants from low and middle income countries). Currently 10 such scholarships are made each year and the sum of $2,000 USD is given to subsidize travel and the registration fees for the meeting are waived.
- Age of participants should be less than 35 years old;
- Abstract accepted by the scientific program committee for either oral or poster presentation;
- Provide certified written proof of annual income;
- Provide a letter of reference from their chairman or an active ISPN member and should not have received the award.
Final selection of the applicants is done by the Ways and Means Chairman and ratified by the Secretary and President of the ISPN.
All applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application at least two months before the meeting and the funds are distributed by the Treasurer of the ISPN along with a letter of invitation from the Ways and Means committee.
Any problems arranging visas or travel permits should be addressed to Chairman of the Ways and Means Committee who will liaise with the meeting host and the appropriate Consular offices.
