To be elected as President for the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery is an honor that validates the beliefs and goals of the recipient. Many of their mentors have received the high honor so the recipient feels that they have met the challenge laid down during their training. Their peers have acknowledged their contributions to the Society thus validating their efforts for the children they care for. The recipient of the honor has a compassion for the advancement of the specialty and a vision on how to accomplish it. Consequently, there is much thought and emotion extended in the writing of the Presidential Message to the Society.
