CHIEF EDITOR's MESSAGE

To all the participants to the ISPN scientific meeting in Liverpool

Since its foundation, Child’s Nervous System represents the “scientific” voice of our Society. A large amounts of the published articles was originated by papers presented at the occasion of our annual scientific meeting. These papers generally obtained a fast publication in order to provide a constant and rapid flow of knowledge as well as an effective exchange of experiences among the society members. The scientific program of the Liverpool meeting was particularly rich, covering a range of important topics. A new format of presentations – Flash presentations – allowed many colleagues to present their experience, though in a concise way. We do hope that all these colleagues might take the opportunity for our journal to develop their theoretical concepts or their practical conclusions in a written form by submitting a paper  to CNS. Obviously, the same invitation is addressed to the authors of the platform presentations and to the invited speaker.

Child’s Nervous System is increasing in diffusion and importance. Its Impact Factor (currently, 1.257) ranges third among neurosurgical journals, just after Neurosurgery and Journal of Neurosurgery and precedes that  of other important generalist journals, like, for example, Surgical Neurology or Acta Neurochirurgica, as well as that of concurrent specialized journals, e.g. Pediatric Neurosurgery. The increased impact factor is obviously only one of the improvements which characterized the journal in the last years. Some of these improvements – as for example, the free-cost publication of color figures, or the possibility to publish illustrated covers, free of charge – should further stimulate the submission of papers.

When submitting the paper, please, don’t forget to mention that it was presented at last meeting of our Society in order to receive the due consideration.

Thanking you in advance for the cooperation,

Best regards,

Prof. Concezio Di Rocco
